We are very committed to the practice of sustainable building beginning with our first sod-roof, recycled content home built in 1969 to our nearly exclusive use of High Volume Fly Ash concrete today. Our use of this product has allowed us to understand the properties of the concrete and develop our own specialized high performance mix designs. We made a conscious effort to share our knowledge with others. Sharing has lead to a number of seminars and events to promote the practice of sustainable building. By making these contributions to our community, we have learned many new green technologies. Our main focus is concentrated in four areas: High Volume Fly Ash Concrete, Cellulose Insulation, Solar Energy, and Waste Management.Over the past several years we have specified exclusively high volume fly ash concrete HVFA in residential construction. We have found that this ecologically sound technology yields a more durable product with few cracks, at little additional cost. The implementation of these types of materials has become increasingly important to the welfare of our planet. It is important to us at Canyon Construction to continue to expand our knowledge, and expertise in the use, of alternative resources in order to maintain our high standards in building.
