Chris Avant, president of Canyon Construction is selected into the REMODELING Big50 class of 2013!
Each year since 1986, the REMODELING Big50 inducts 50 owners of remodeling companies that set exceptionally high standards for professionalism and integrity through exemplary business practices, craftsmanship and impact in their community and industry at large. Big50 remodelers run successful, growing, companies of various sizes that have taken the lead in raising industry standards.
The Big50 selection process has become increasingly rigorous in recent years, and the result, REMODELING editors believe, is one of the strongest classes to date. “Uniting the 2013 inductees are high standards and a determination to push through the recession — taking the opportunity to retool systems and processes to prepare for the recovery — ensuring that as business picks up, they are poised to meet their sales, production, and customer-service goals and continue to thrive,” according to REMODELING.
“We are very honored to receive this distinction,” says Shannon Jordan, marketing coordinator of Canyon Construction. “The award recognizes excellence and leadership. We are privileged to be named to this select group of remodelers.”
REMODELING editors, columnists, industry leaders and the companies themselves make the nominations each year. Following a lengthy evaluation and interview process, the editors select the 50 individuals who exemplify the best of the industry that year and have something to offer other remodelers in proven practices.
REMODELING, published by Hanley Wood, LLC, is the leading publication in the home improvement industry. Designed to address the specific concerns of residential remodeling pros, the magazine is both a business tool and an industry leader for a market that reached $278 billion in 2011.

This master bathroom was completely remodeled in less than eight weeks by the Canyon Construction team, led by Jim Kirkworld.
The designers of this breathtaking space are Kevin Hackett and Jessica Weigley of Siol Studios. Together, they created “A Sacred Space to Bathe.” A compartmental room designed to balance connection, health, beauty and daily use.
The living, herbal plant wall behind the bath tub is a creative collaboration with David Brenner of Habitat Horticulture. It’s currently growing eight types of plants, including three different herbs. These herbs freshen the scent in the room or can be added to your soak for a spa-like experience.
